Denali Saddle Safaris is a horseback outfitter offering guided "trail" rides and overnight trips in the wilderness area surrounding Denali National Park. We use the term "trail ride" loosely around here.

Because of our location and elevation we don't have a set "trail" in a lot of places; we can ride side-by-side - just like on Bonanza!

Your safari begins at our home and place of business located at Mile 3.9 Stampede Road in Healy. This historical road once known as the Stampede trail from the Gold and Antimony strikes, was one of the first roads into Denali National Park.

All of our rides offer stunning panoramic views of the Alaska Range and the surrounding Healy Valley from start to finish. Denali National Park surrounds us on three sides, but we are unable to ride into the park. We are the only horseback outfitter in Denali with views of Mt. McKinley on our 1/2 and longer rides. Our experienced staff takes you on a journey traveling up 3200 feet in elevation with breathtaking views of the entire area.

Looking to the South, less than 2 miles away, sits the majestic Alaska Range which is the Northern Border of Denali Park.

Looking to the West you might see…keep looking…ah yes, Mt. McKinley, you know, the tallest mountain in North America! (On half days or longer rides only). Due North you’ll see…yes…more of those confounded mountains that everyone is talking about!

Ride across the high alpine tundra and experience its incredible wildflowers and birds in the spring and spectacular colors and abundant berries in the fall.

If Mother Nature cooperates you may see moose, caribou, bear and sometimes sheep.

We invite you to join our family and staff for a real Alaskan experience. Come see Alaska on horseback with your hosts Jo-Ann and Coke Wallace.
