Accessible only by boat or plane, it has been a homesteaders dream for years. In the early spring, female Brown bear leave their dens with young in tow, to feed on the succulent grasses found around this camp. This allows the opportunity to view and photograph these magnificent animals. Like the grasses and salmon they feed upon, the bears are transitory- May, June and July are the best times to see them in great numbers. August brings large numbers of spawning salmon and the bears cover a larger area to feed, therefore an overnight is highly recommended in this part of the season. |

-St. Paul/Pribilof Islands- Astound the imagination! Every inch of space on the craggy cliffs, from the largest ledge to the smallest crevice, is claimed by a nesting bird. Colorful Puffins, Red-legged Kittiwakes and Red Faced Cormorants - among many rarely seen species - are abundant. The largest Aleut population in the world resides upon the island. Their culture has been influenced by other pepoples who have come in search of the island's riches. The Russian Orthodox church binds the community together and stands as a reminder of the native's past influences. St. Paul Island is a fascinating combination of past, present and nature. Tour includes: Round-trip airfare from Anchorage, transfers, guide services, ground transportation, sightseeing in St. Paul, shared bath, and WC accommodations at King Eider Hotel. |
